I was supposed to be in a craft show in Sherwood tomorrow but had to back out because of how lousy I felt all week and had no energy to make the cake pops needed for my display...kinda bummed about that but oh well, I will have LOTS to keep me busy.
I have been asked to make 200 cake pops for a fundraiser at Little Chute High School to raise money for a new flag, which is being spearheaded by Brenna Olson. The cake pops will be sold on Thursday, November 17 and Friday, November 18 in the commons and by the half circle by the office (have no clue where that is but I'm sure all the students do)!
I also made an 18 pop birthday arrangement that I need to deliver tomorrow morning and I am very pleased with how that turned out...if only my pictures would look as bright and vibrant as my arrangements do...oh well, trust me, they do look pretty neat.
A few weeks back I had a lady call me to inquire about her daughter's wedding and they were looking at around 600 cake pops and I was just thrilled that someone wants me to make their cake pops for their wedding...we had been emailing back and forth and I haven't heard from her...well, her daughter called me this past week and I have to make a bunch of samples to ship to her so she can taste them and it sounds like she is going to go with me and I'm so happy...I couldn't WAIT to get to my local bulk food store and purchase all kinds of sprinkles to go with her New Year's Eve themed wedding...when I get in that bulk food store, I feel like I am a bobblehead because there is so much color, snacks, candies, baking items, you name it...I never know where to start and their row of sprinkles is unbelievable! For those of you who think I am crazy because I get excited over sprinkles, I apologize...but for those of you who bake and use sprinkles...you KNOW what I'm talking about!
She requested the following cake pop samples, so I have been baking cakes all night...
Peanut Butter Cup
Chocolate Mint Cookie Crunch
Lemon
Carrot
Oreo & Cream Cheese
Vanilla Cake with Caramel Frosting
Butter Pecan with cream cheese frosting
Blue Velvet Cake...YES Blue Velvet - Never heard of this but I found the recipe online and I'm going to give it a shot...will post pics of this one when I get this done
I was also asked to make Mickey Mouse cake pops for a customer and were those ever a flop! I accidentally bought the wrong kind of black paste to add to my white chocolate melts...I was so excited to try these but the chocolate ended up like sludge because of the wrong paste...will post pictures when I get the right stuff.
