Wonder by R.J. Palacio

Wonder is a children's novel written by R.J. Palacio. Wonder was a #1 on The New York Times Best Seller list and was also on the Texas Bluebonnet Award master list. The book was the winner of both the 2014 Maine Student Book Award and Vermont's Dorothy Canfield Fisher Children's Book Award.

You may be "Wondering" why I am telling you about the book Wonder.  I was asked to make cake pops that looked like Auggie, the main character of the book for the book launch at the LCMS.  I call myself a "creative" person but not an "artistic" person.  I can't replicate the faces or characters that people ask me to, although that would be a dream of mine to be able to do so.  The arrangement below is what I came up with for my take on "Auggie" and everybody loved them and so did the kids.

So now for the REALLY EXCITING PART!!!!  R. J. Palacio was in Appleton yesterday and I was asked to make a little cake pop arrangement for her to be waiting for her in her hotel room!  How cool is that?!?!?!?  Below is a picture of the arrangement I made for her and she also took a "selfie" and I got a copy of that too!  Just wish I could have given my cake pops to her in person...oh well...maybe next time :-)

Logan & Kenzie Lovin' the Cake Pops!

I see these two little girls every day at work and they absolutely love my cake pops!  Here is a picture from the Christmas cake pops I gave them.  They are just as sweet as my cake pops are!

Bridal Shower Pops

It seems the latest color trend is yellow and grey's with chevron patterns.  I was asked to make cake pops that coordinated with that theme and this is what I came up with. They turned out quite nice if you ask me!

Peeters & Matthies Wedding

I finally got my first "official" wedding order and had to make 400 cake pops!  I can't take credit for the amazing display, but I made each and every one of those cake pops.  I just love how they turned out and her hubby made that awesome cake pop stand!  The mason jars with the little chalk boards put the finishing touches on this display.  The couple got married in Punta Cana in February and had a reception at the end of March.  Flavors of the cake pops were; Oreo Cookies & Cream Cheese, German Chocolate Cake mixed with Coconut Pecan frosting, Funfetti Cake with Rainbow Chip frosting and Red Velvet Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting and I was told there were only 3 cake pops left at the end of the night.  Please message me if you would like me to make cake pops for your wedding or any other event you need them for.

A Very Special 19th Birthday Arrangement

We have a very special young man in our town and his name is Noah.  He has down syndrome and is loved by our whole town.  Noah has the biggest heart and soul I have ever seen in anyone and he makes me smile the minute I see him.  He truly is an inspiration to all and the way he cares and treats everyone is truly amazing.  If the whole world had more Noah's, it would be a truly beautiful place.  I feel truly blessed to know Noah.  When my daughter and I delivered this cake pop arrangement to him, he was so happy and he said his heart was so full of love because we thought of him.  Now if THAT doesn't put a tear in your eye, I don't know what will.

Valentine's Day 2014

Cake Pop love was in the air this year with all the cake pop orders I received.  I had so much fun making these and hearing how each of the Valentine's loved their cake pop arrangements...who would want flowers when you can eat this arrangement :-)
